Down Goes Big Boy #3

My! Oh my! The beat goes on at the Rogers Cup in Montreal. The latest casualty is two-time champion and World No. 3 Roger Federer.

Federer lost in the third round 6-7, 6-4, 1-6 to World No. 16 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France. This is Federer's second consecutive loss to the Frenchman as Tsonga also beat him in the quarterfinals at Wimbledon a couple of months ago.

So now the only Top 4 player still alive is World No. 1 Novak Djokovic. Djokovic has advanced to the quarterfinals where he will meet World No. 7 Gael Monfils of France.

The tournament has been a nightmare for #2 Rafael Nadal, #3 Roger Federer and #4 Andy Murray. The three were a combined 1-3 in the tournament. So much for me hyping this thing up.

Oh by the way--

World No. 8 Mardy Fish has quietly punched his ticket to the semifinals. So an American win in Canada would be nice, unless of course, Mr. Djokovic has other ideas.

Go Mardy!
