Holy Cow! The Mets Are Above Water!

This is a quick CONGRATULATORY POST to the New York Mets, who at 46-45, enter the All-Star break with a winning record. As a disgruntled Mets fan, I didn't think they had it in them to, at least, play decent baseball this year. With all their off-the-field problems, lawsuits, distractions, financial woes and injuries to key players like Johan Santana, I thought this season was going to be a nightmare in Flushing, Queens, NY.

But with the electrifying Jose Reyes leading the way, the Mets have shown resiliency and a will to win that has surprised a lot of us. And for that they deserve credit. Kudos to them!

As for the somewhat-disgruntled Mr. Met--

Yes Mr. Met, we still play in the same division with those guys to your right. As long as they're in the same neighborhood don't expect our team to go anywhere any time soon. That crew in Philly is WAY beyond our pay grade. No doubt.

But nonetheless, the Mets deserve a SHOUTOUT for being above .500 at this point in the season.

P.S. Like the Pittsburgh Pirates in the previous post, we too, have our demons. I call it, "The Ghost of Yadier Molina". Please, don't remind me!
