The Human Torch Does It Again!

The Human Torch Cliff Lee is on fire!

Last night, Lee (8-5, 2.87 ERA) continued his dominance by pitching his second consecutive shutout in a 4-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. In his last start Lee pitched a shutout in a 3-0 win over the Florida Marlins.

Here are his stats from both games--

1. vs. St. Louis: 9.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 0 HR, 1.12 WHIP
2. vs. Florida: 9.0 IP, 6 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 0 HR, 1.14 WHIP

Lee is now 4-0 in the month of June and has a 23-inning consecutive scoreless streak. He has allowed a total of 1 run in 33 innings in his four June wins.

Dominant? You betcha!

And what's even more amazing-- as of today he is probably the 3rd best starter on the Phillies staff behind Mr. Fantastic Roy Halladay and Invisible Dude Cole Hamels. Whoa!

Finally, a WORD to Mr. Met--

Yes Mr. Met, I'm a disgruntled Mets fan also and I know that, as a Mets fan, it is blasphemy to write so much good stuff about the Phillies.

If you throw in the towel and become an OBJECTIVE baseball fan like I did, life would become much more easier for you. Like them or not, they are a lethal machine that isn't going away any time soon. So if you can't beat them, join them.

Cheer up, Mr. Met!

That's all!
