The Rangers Are In!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE TEXAS RANGERS
2010 AL WEST CHAMPIONS

Pencil in the Texas Rangers!

The Rangers (86-68) have ended an 11-year playoff drought and have also erased their name from the list of teams who are yet to make the playoffs in the 21st century.

2010 marks the Rangers 4th playoff appearance in team history and their first this century. Their 3 prior playoff appearances were in 1996, 1998 and 1999.

So now the list of teams with no playoff berths since the beginning of the new millennium has dwindled down to six teams. And with the Cincinnati Reds (last playoff appearance in 1995) at the brink of clinching a playoff spot, the list will soon dwindle down to five teams.

But for now, manager Ron Washington, sluggers Josh Hamilton, Vladimir Guerrero, Michael Young and the rest of the Rangers are kings of the AL West.

More on that list after the Reds take care of business.
