Galarraga and Joyce Reunite

From a playoffs' standpoint, tonight's game between the Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers is perfectly meaningless. The Tigers, who showed a lot of promise earlier in the season, are pretty much playing to salvage a winning record and the Orioles, well, they're the Orioles.

But there was a lot of drama surrounding this game because it marked the first confrontation between Tiger starter Armando Galarraga and umpire Jim Joyce since Joyce's now-infamous "blown call" in Galarraga's "PERFECT" game.

However, the difference being that Joyce was working behind home plate in tonight's game and in Galarraga's perfecto he was, as we all now know, umpiring first base.

According to reports, Joyce and Galarraga both downplayed the reunion and didn't even speak before the game.

Oh and by the way, the Orioles won the game 6-3 and Galarraga pitched 7 strong innings allowing 3 runs but walked away with a no-decision.

I guess the only thing interesting about this situation is how one unfortunate incident has forever linked these two gentlemen together. It's like you can't think of one without thinking of the other.

But I highly doubt either one likes the link, but unfortunately, they're stuck like Siamese twins.

And Galarraga got the short end of the stick, that's for sure.
