The Crimson Tide Get It Done!

Alabama 37 - McCoy-less Texas 21

As a neutral fan, it was a kind of bittersweet national title game. Yes, I'm happy for the Crimson Tide but the Colt McCoy injury left a big shadow on the game. As if Boise State's win wasn't enough....

Freshman back-up QB Garrett Gilbert did the best he could under the extreme circumstances. Its not your fault kid. I can imagine the enormous pressure you were under. Just be proud that you rallied your team to within 24-21 late in the 4th. quarter. I'm sure at half-time, 90% of the country thought the game was over, but you made it interesting in the second-half. The Longhorns are your team now. Good luck next season!

Colt McCoy

What can I say? I'm sure everyone in America felt bad for McCoy last night. But things happen.

You showed an ocean of class after the game, Colt. Even though your disheartened emotions left you speechless-- you still managed to congratulate Alabama. You're one classy guy! Good luck at the next level.

  1. Colt's post game interviews was one of the best I've seen. Usually after a college player's last game they say something about getting themselves ready for the next level. You can tell that wasn't a thought for him. He was still about his team and that moment. I hope he, Braford and Tebow have some epic battles in the pros. Something to look towards to.
