Halloween May Have Come Early for Matt Holliday and the Cardinals!

Los Angeles Dodgers 3 - St. Louis Cardinals 2, Game 2
Dodgers lead series, 2-0

What did Matt Holliday see that made him seem to panic last night? Was the ghost of Michael Myers (above) lurking in Dodger Stadium? Hmmmm?

Halloween is still officially 3 weeks away, but for Holliday and the St. Louis Cardinals, a nightmare may have unfolded last night. With the Cardinals leading, 2-1, two outs and bases empty in the bottom of the ninth, James Loney hit a shot to Holliday, which should have been the third out. Holliday, either misjudged the ball or lost it in the lights, committing an error. Loney hustled to second base and later scored the tying run on a Ronnie Belliard single.

After that, things just fell apart. No need to keep recapping, I think by now the entire world knows what happened.

Rather than being tied 1-1, the Cardinals are down, 0-2. The good news is, Game 3 shifts back to the friendly confines of Busch Stadium. Just how friendly it'll be for Holliday is going to be interesting to see.

  1. I think he got distracted by Alyssa Milano, she's always at the Dodgers' games. Can you blame him? :)

  2. If that's the case, who can blame him? Alyssa will make anyone nervous. :)
